League Details
The league starts the week of September 14 and will conclude with a season ending tournament on November 7 and 8.
For 3rd through 6th graders, practices are held one evening per week at one of eight convenient practice locations. League play will be on weekends in the LaGrange area.
For 1st-2nd graders, practice and games will both be on Saturday. These players will practice first and then have a match following. We alter the game rules for these players to ensure that they learn the basics of the game and have fun doing it.
For 7th and 8th graders, so that we don’t conflict with school teams, practices and games will be on Saturday. The players will practice first and then have a match immediately following.
Grades 1-4 play 4-on-4 volleyball games with seven-eight total players per team. Fifth & sixth grade play 6-on-6 with a total of 10-12 players per team. Each player will have equal playing opportunity.

League Cost
This cost of $175 per player ($125 for 1st and 2nd graders) includes the head coaching time, gym rental, referees, insurance, USA Volleyball membership, a t-shirt uniform and medals for the champions and runner-ups in each age group.
Assistant Parent Coaches
Each team has a parent serve as a coach. However, an experienced Lions Jrs. volleyball coach will design and run practices. There will also be Lions Jrs. volleyball coaches at the gym to help on game days. So parent coaches do not need to know volleyball – they just need to be enthusiastic, toss balls and help run drills. We will be running a parent coaching clinic before the start of the season. |
